Call For Short Films: The Juneteenth Experience 2025
In celebration of Juneteenth, Hued Songs presents The Juneteenth Experience, an immersive theater-concert production event boasting one of the largest and most significant Juneteenth celebrations in South Florida. Hued Songs is seeking original, short films by South Florida & Tulsa, Oklahoma artists, creatives, and filmmakers that align with themes of Black joy, freedom, and/or belonging to be screened on location across three performances. Four films will be selected with chosen filmmakers receiving an honorarium of $900.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to artists, creatives, and film-makers based in South Florida (i.e. Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach county) or in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY? Film must be no shorter than 8 minutes and no longer than 15 minutes. Film must align around the theme(s) of Black joy, Black liberation and/or Black belonging. All interpretations welcome. Films from artists and creatives with lived experiences around these themes are especially encouraged. Must be suitable for all ages.
