Miami Artist Census 2024 Now Open

The Miami Artist Census is an artist-run research initiative that will identify and map the needs of Miami-based artists. Made for artists by artists, the county-wide data project will collect information that will help public and private funders know where and how to allocate funding for local artists, and provide public officials with the data needed to support policies responding to artists’ needs. Furthermore, it will give artists, art institutions, researchers, and the public, a clearer picture of what today’s Miami artist community looks like for years to come.

 

Why Should You Take The Census Survey?

The Miami Artist Census is your chance to contribute to a comprehensive data collection and visualization project intended
to benefit our city’s artists—the first of its kind in Florida. When it comes to things like financial support in the arts, it can be easy to make assumptions. With data as the primary tool, the Miami Artist Census aims to rewrite the narrative of Miami artists and tell a more complete story. Clear and concise data can help funders understand why and where support is needed, while giving artists a powerful tool for self-organization and communal advocacy.

 

All artists living in Miami-Dade County are invited to be a part of history and complete the survey. Submissions will be accepted until December 31, 2024.
