The City of Coral Gables recently held a ceremony co-designating the 300 block of Aragon Ave. as Nino Pernetti Way. The street was named in honor of well known restauranteur Nino Pernetti who operated the iconic Caffe Abbracci for three decades. More than 75 family, friends, and community leaders gathered to honor Pernetti as Mayor Vince Lago, Vice Mayor Michael Mena, Commissioners Rhonda Anderson, Kirk Menendez, and Jim Cason unveiled the street sign bearing his name.

During the ceremony Mayor Lago commented, “Nino was the ultimate host. His clients became his friends because he knew the importance of developing relationships and making a connection with others. Despite running a very busy restaurant, relationships whether with his team or with his guests never took a backseat for Nino. While it is bittersweet since Nino is no longer with us, we are proud to honor him.”
