Architects Jacqueline Gonzalez Touzet and Carlos Prio-Touzet of Touzet Studio will discuss historic preservation projects on Miami Beach and beyond.

About Touzet Studio

Jacqueline Gonzalez Touzet

Jacqueline is a Founding Principal of Touzet Studio, an award-winning design and architecture studio based in Miami. Touzet Studio is known for thoughtful, well-crafted design solutions that are mindful of the culture and history of each site and community. Touzet Studio is also considered a leader in innovative and sustainable design solutions. Their clients include global design and technology companies such as Apple, Nike and many visionary private clients and individuals.

Born in Cuba, Jacqueline and her partner Carlos Prio-Touzet both are long time Miami residents who founded Touzet Studio in 2004. Prior to forming Touzet Studio, Jacqueline was a Vice President at Arquitectonica and led their multifamily work for Florida and Asia.

Jacqueline is a passionate advocate of the importance of good design and planning to help prepare communities and shape cities and buildings in Subtropical Coastal regions for the future. She has worked to create programming and partnerships between academic and professional organizations to inform the public and help prepare stakeholders for the challenges of climate change and the importance of community resilience.

Jacqueline is a frequent guest critic and adjunct professor at University of Miami and Florida International University. Jacqueline is a frequent guest speaker and panelist on the topic of affordable design, resiliency, adaptive reuse and innovation of design in housing at national and local level.

Carlos Prio-Touzet

Carlos Prio-Touzet became a Founding Principal of Touzet Studio in 2004. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami. His humanely thoughtful, carefully crafted design solutions have earned him a reputation as one of South Florida’s foremost modern architects.

Born in Cuba, Carlos and his partner, Jacqueline Gonzalez Touzet, both are long time Miami residents who founded Touzet Studio in 2004. Carlos’ extensive background in architectural design, interior design and master planning ranges through a variety of projects throughout the United States, Western Europe, Asia and the Americas. Project types include single-family residential, multi-family residential, commercial, office, hospitality, and entertainment. His commitment to design and the understanding of local history and climate have further enhanced his involvement in communities and City organizations.

Carlos is a frequent guest critic and adjunct professor at University of Miami and Florida International University.
