BECON-TV Launches Season 14 of School Duel Student Academic Quiz Show Beginning Thursday, February 29

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) BECON-TV proudly announces the launch of season 14 of School Duel, the popular academic quiz show, which highlights the knowledge and skills of high school students from across South Florida. The exciting, annual scholastic competition is presented by Chick-fil-A and BrightStar Credit Union.

Beginning Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 8 p.m., 24 high schools will compete in a fast-paced, academic competition. Each episode sets two teams of high school students to compete in a battle of intellect and quick thinking as they answer questions on a variety of subjects, including history, literature, math, arts, science and more.

School Duel host Lisa Lee Arneaud will welcome 16 teams from BCPS, including Coconut Creek High School, Cooper City High School, Coral Glades High School, Coral Springs High School, Deerfield Beach High School, Everglades High School, Hallandale High School, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Monarch High School, Northeast High School, Plantation High School, Sheridan Technical High School, South Plantation High School, Stranahan High School, West Broward High School, and Western High School. In addition to these District schools, the show also features student teams from Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties.

The winning teams are awarded Chick-fil-A vouchers that are valid for an entire year, while runner-up teams receive cash prizes from BrightStar Credit Union. All student participants are presented with School Duel trophies from EDCO Awards & Specialties and admission tickets to the Museum of Discovery and Science. Additional show sponsors are FEM Foundation and Publix Supermarkets.

Tune in to BECON-TV every Thursday at 8 p.m., starting February 29, with the final episode airing on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Each week’s episode will rebroadcast on Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m
