Heritage Fuego Presented By Goya Foods 2023 Brought The Heat!

America’s beloved, live-fire, open-air culinary experience, Heritage Fuego presented by Goya Foods, returned for its 13th year on Sunday, November 12, 2023, in which close to two dozen all-star chefs delivered live-fired deliciousness. Close to 1,000 attendees had the chance to taste a variety of locally sourced, grilled heritage-bred proteins al fresco at the iconic Biltmore Hotel; each dish inspired by global food cultures.

The all-star lineup of talented participating chefs included Andrew Gonzalez of Rolled and Night Owl Cookies; Adam Darnell and Steve Santana of OFF SITE Nano Brewery; Eileen Andrade & Eric Benitez of Finka Table & Tap and Amelia’s 1931; Greg Tetzner of Old Greg’s Pizza; Giorgio Rapicavoli of Luca Osteria and Eating House; Rick Mace of Tropical Smokehouse; Carlos Garcia of Leku; Sue Torres and Leanne Kelleher of Tides; Jeff Bud of Apocalypse BBQ; Josh Elliott of QP Tapas; Alex Kuk and Diego Ng of Temple Street Eatery; Jorgie Ramos of Cebada Rooftop; Fernando Desa of Goya Foods; Aaron Brooks of Edge Brasserie & Cocktail Bar and Darien Borges and Ismael Llano of Pin Pan Pollo.

The list of heritage and heirloom foods included dry-aged beef, pigs, lamb, goat, bison, duck, fish, chicken, artisan cheeses, oysters and heirloom vegetables. Produced by a21, formerly known as Agency 21 Consulting, the event’s ultimate goal was to provide education to consumers and create an experience for guests to sink their teeth into: honest food from real farmers prepared with love and precise technique.

Attendees had the opportunity to vote “Best Bite of the Day” with the winner crowned Heritage Hero. This year, Chefs Eileen Andrade & Eric Benitez were announced Heritage Heroes by virtue of their winning Mojo Roasted Porchetta dish. To that end, Chef Eileen & Chef Eric will be attending the sublime sands of South Beach to participate in the first-ever Goya Foods’ Heritage Fire: Grand Finalè event at the 2024 Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by Capital One (SOBEWFF®) on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

In addition to one-of-a-kind live-fire culinary creations, Heritage Fuego presented by Goya Foods featured an array of fine spirits, craft cocktails and a selection of sweet endings. “Heritage Fuego brought the heat to Miami, what a wild success! We were so thrilled with the amount of people who came, even in the horrible weather to support this sold-out event. The energy was intoxicating. It was yet another amazing opportunity for our community to get out, dance, laugh, consume and enjoy themselves,” said Brett Friedman, Partner & CEO of a21.
