Story Of Hometown Hero To Release Nov 18th Exclusively At Coral Gables Art Cinema

MTV Documentary Films is pleased to present LAST FLIGHT HOME, Ondi Timoner’s stunning verité account of a family courageously, and joyously, facing both life and death. The film received its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and was most recently featured at the Telluride Film Festival. The film will be opening in Miami on November 18, 2022 exclusively at the Coral Gables Art Cinema.

On an unremarkable suburban street, we find 92-year-old Eli Timoner, who founded Air Florida, the fastest growing airline in the world in the 1970s. During his final days, we discover an extraordinary life, one filled with wild achievements, tragic loss and, above all, enduring love. With her latest film, Ondi Timoner, Eli’s daughter and two-time winner of the Sundance Film Festival’s Documentary Grand Jury Prize (DIG!, WE LIVE IN PUBLIC), has created her most personal verité film yet —a moving and honest conversation with mortality. LAST FLIGHT HOME takes audiences on an unforgettable ride through Eli Timoner’s life, illustrating a modern-day success story built on the power of human connection. As the Timoners open up their lives to offer an enlightening view of a universal experience, they demonstrate the grace, connection—and joy—that can emerge from embracing death.
